BACKGROUND The EIMSO is based on the Global Marketing Management System (GMMS) book previously published by Pearson Education, Inc (1998) and two other Online software programs developed by JAI, Inc. (www.janavaras.com): www.gmmso.com, (2000) and www.globalmarketpotential.com (GMPSO), (2002). It is the culmination of the author's 30 years experience in international business/trade research, teaching and training and personal involvement in business, including exporting and importing. The author would like to express his sincere gratitude to a good number of individuals, too many to mention by name, who have contributed to the development of the software programs including: International business/trade practitioners, business consultants, faculty and students. Janavaras (www.business.mnsu.edu/basilj) is a professor of International Business, author, researcher and consultant. He has lectured is the U.S. and abroad, including the former Soviet Union, Austria, Canada, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Taiwan and other Asian countries. He has assisted several public institutions and small and mid-sized companies with their efforts to internationalize. He is the author of the Global Marketing Management System book previously published by Pearson Education, Inc. In addition, he has developed two other software programs: www.gmmso.com and www.globalmarketpotential.com. Janavaras is Professor of International Business, Department of Marketing and International Business at Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN and an adjunct faculty at the University of St. Thomas, Master of International Management program, St. Paul, MN. In addition, he served as chairperson and Director of the International Business Institute at Minnesota State. He has also served as director of International Business Studies, Master of International Management (MIM) program, Graduate School of Business, University of St. Thomas (UST), St. Paul, MN, USA. He also taught courses as an adjunct faculty member for the UST Division of Business. He is the founder, president and CEO of Janavaras & Associates International, Inc. (JAI), a global management training and consulting firm (www.janavaras.com), and co-owner of Odyssey Gifts (www.odysseygifts.com), a family owned retail chain of better quality gifts and collectibles.
